CHALLENGE
Water scarcity in Mutalani community, Makueni County, Kenya
Some 1500 women and children in Mutulani village (a Semi-Arid area in Lower Eastern Kenya) currently faces severe water scarcity challenges. This has led to increased cases of water-borne diseases, poor hygiene and sanitation, decline in agricultural economic activities, and severe food shortages.
SOLUTION
Provide access to clean, safe and reliable water to 300 households
Having already sunk a borehole, we are now focusing on completing the water supply system to ensure higher standards of hygiene & sanitation, reduced cases of school absenteeism. We aim to construct water tanks, bio-digester system and facilitate forums on WASH.
